Downloading the Competition Games
The games for the 2001 competition can be found at the following
locations.
You have several choices of files to download. And please note the
late-addition file below: it's not in any of the competition
distributions.
- For Windows 95/98/2000/NT/ME, there are two files which contain
everything you need. IFComp2001.exe contains all of the
games. WinInterpreters.exe has all of the interpreters, which
are the programs you'll need to run the games.
- For the Mac, Comp01Text_Mac.sit contains all of the
games which have few or no graphics and sound resource files, and
Comp01Multimedia_Mac.sit has the multimedia resource files
and the games which require multimedia.
- For everyone else, Comp01Text.zip has the games which
have few or no graphics and sound resource files, and
Comp01Multimedia.zip has the multimedia resource files and
the games which require multimedia.
N.B. The walkthrough for The Evil Sorceror
(which is in the /inform/evil directory in the competition
distribution) got left out of the competition distributions. Please download
it separately.
If you download one of the packages which has no interpreters, you
will need to get the interpreters yourself. You will need a TADS
interpreter, an Inform/z-machine
interpreter, a Glulx
interpreter, an ALAN
interpreter, and (if you're running Windows) the ADRIFT
and Quest interpreters.
